You’d have to watch a lot of Hal Holbrook’s presentations to find the one quoted in the title. But I heard off an old LP from 40 years ago, and he was comparing the differences between the North and the South at the time of the Civil War.

You be the judge and make up your arguments why the North was for Climate and the South for Society in the 1890s. Today, I’d say both assets belong to the South.

But that’s just me.
